One-Pot Hamburger Helper

Hello Villagers.
I am so excited to share this week’s recipe with you. Growing up, my parents were on a pretty tight food budget. This led to a lot of soup and sandwiches, tuna mac, and of course Hamburger Helper. As a kid, I loved the Hamburger Helper; but as an adult, I am a little weary about using boxed meals. I set out to find a recipe that would bring back my childhood joy and came across this fantastic recipe at Countryside Cravings.

Hamburger Helper Ingredients

This recipe is a big step up from the boxed stuff in regards to both flavor and health. Not to mention, it’s pretty comparable from a cost perspective – assuming you have many of the seasonings on hand. You’ll notice I made a few minor changes that worked for my family. We love having leftovers and my boys are both in growth spurts so I doubled the recipe. I also took out the cayenne pepper because my littlest ones don’t like any heat in their food (here’s hoping they come around one day). This is a great time to consider testing out whole grain pasta and add a little boost of fiber.
