Fruit and Yogurt Popsicles

trio of popsicles

Beat the heat this summer with these amazingly versatile and healthy fruit and yogurt popsicles!

Being based in Texas means hot hot summers. The temperatures this summer reached triple digits a little quicker than usual. For our family, this means lots of frozen treats. Instead of relying on ice cream and sugary popsicles to stay cool we make these delicious fruit and yogurt popsicles.

Not only are these fruit and yogurt popsicles healthy, they are a great way to use up any fresh fruit that is about to go bad or make use of good deals on frozen fruit. Grocery stores have many fun fruit combinations in the frozen section. If you select frozen fruit, be sure to avoid any added sugars or sauces. The only ingredient should be the fruit itself.

Our standard recipe calls for 3 cups of fruit (fresh or frozen) and then 32 oz tub of yogurt. I prefer to use a vanilla greek yogurt for the extra flavor and protein, but any plain or lightly sweetened yogurt will do! These two ingredients are pureed together and then poured into a popsicle mold. Freeze for at least 6-8 hours and serve!

Family favorites include:

The mold size you use will determine just how big of a fruit and yogurt serving you are getting. We like these molds from Amazon, but any mold will do. Using this mold with our standard recipe will provide roughly 1/8 cup pureed fruit and 2.25 oz of greek yogurt.

If you don’t have time to freeze the yogurt and fruit blends to create popsicles, the blends still make a healthy fruit and yogurt snack!
